Christmas calendar

I had long planned to take on a creative Christmas calendar challenge one day, and this year I did. The idea was to publish a short animation for every day of the month until Christmas Day.

The challenge had to come up with some constraints, which went like this: the release had to be a square loop of about 5-10 seconds. Its main element had to be the number of the day or a shape resembling it. I also created a Christmas colour palette, which I followed for the most part in all the outputs.

The aim of this project is to try out new animation and illustration techniques, explore different visual styles and potentially learn a lot of new things. The challenge was that I didn't have much time due to other client projects, so I had to come up with and implement something very quickly. This meant accepting imperfection and getting rid of the desire to tweak these pieces endlessly.

Hopefully, I was able to open the eyes of some current and potential customers to what Riesen Design can offer and in general what kind of implementations can be created with animation and illustration.
